Certibiocide
Biocide and certibiocide regulations
From 1 January 2025, Certibiocide will become mandatory for all professionals wishing to acquire, use or distribute biocidal products intended for professional activities (Certibiocide Decree of 9 October 2013).
What is the objective of the Certibiocide ?
Certibiocide aims to regulate the use of biocidal products by ensuring that the professionals who handle them, whether purchasing, using or distributing, have the necessary skills to do so in a safe and compliant manner.
The decree now distinguishes between 3 types of Certibiocide :
– Disinfectants Certibiocide: for TP2, TP3, TP4 products (disinfection products).
– Pests Certibiocide: for TP14, TP18, TP20 products (pest control products).
– Other Products Certibiocide: for TP8, TP15, TP21 products (wood preservatives, avicides, antifouling). : for TP8, TP15, TP21 products (wood preservatives, avicides, antifouling).
Validity of the Certibiocide :
Certibiocides issued before 31/12/2023 remain valid until their expiry date. They are equivalent until their end date of validity to the 3 new certibiocides issued since the beginning of 2024 and therefore allow the purchase, use or sale of all the professional products concerned by the new Certibiocide decree. The new Certibiocide is valid for 5 years.
Who is concerned by the Certibiocide?
– Distributors of biocidal products : The spirit of the decree is to ensure that the customer is, at a given moment in the sales process, in contact with a person who holds the certibiocide and is able to provide him with the information necessary for the proper use of the biocidal products concerned. The distribution undertaking must be organised accordingly in order to fulfil this obligation.
– Buyers : Within the meaning of the decree, the buyer is the person in the establishment who chooses the product and who orders its acquisition. It is indeed the company that has the knowledge and skills to make the choice of this product according to the use and its intended use.
– Decision-makers : The notion of decision-maker is understood in the sense of the persons responsible within the institution for :
- Choosing the products used,
- Define product usage protocols,
- Validate service proposals and specifications,
- Raise awareness among operators of good disinfection practices,
- Instruct the disinfection operations to be carried out.

NEW : WIPING AND SCRUBBING RANGE
Since this summer, a complete range of hygiene and wiping products for professionals has been available through our sister company LA COMPAGNIE DU MIDI.
The Compagnie du Midi manufactures and sells a wide range of wiping and de-securing products (sponges, abrasives, wiping textiles, cleaning textiles, etc.) in Carros, near Nice (06, France). Hygiene et Nature’s knowledge of the professional markets combined with the know-how of La Compagnie du Midi allows us to offer distributors wiping and scrubbing products for professionals.
We have carefully selected the products of the professional range in order to meet all the needs of professional kitchens (restaurants, canteens, restaurants, hotels, etc.) but also for the maintenance of sanitary facilities, hotel rooms, offices, administration.
Our range consists of :
- Vegetable sponges: based on wood pulp (cellulose), with high absorbency with or without edge.
- Terry cloths: made from cellulose fibers with high absorbency and in different formats (dishwashing rack, drainer, terry roller).
- Sponge pads composed on one side of a vegetable sponge (with fine porosity or coarse porosity) and on the other side of an abrasive pad adapted to different needs (fragile surfaces or for a more or less strong abrasiveness).
- Abrasive rollers and pads adapted to each need (fragile surfaces or for more or less strong abrasiveness).
- Metal or stainless-steel coils to unclog and remove stubborn dirt.
- Textiles: HACCP cloth, curly cloth, curly mop, traditional, supersoft or embossed.
- A non-scratching melamine magic sponge stain remover.

Départ en retraite après 34 années au sein d'H&N
This Friday, June 28th, we said goodbye to our colleague Frédéric PETIT who retired after 3️⃣4️⃣ years at Hygiène et Nature as IT manager.
📆 In more than 3 decades, Frédéric has experienced the computer and technological revolution, changes in organization and working methods, and sometimes ups and downs. In short, 34 years in the life of a French family business. Frédéric is our memoir, our business historian.
🎶 To show him their gratitude and friendship, the management and the employees (whom Frédéric all saw arrive at H&N) offered him a farewell party in song and a few gifts to fill his new schedule.
👨💻 We wish him a retirement filled with happiness, relaxation and new adventures. Whether traveling, with family or pursuing his passions, we hope he will take full advantage of this new stage of his life. 🥂🎉

PRODEF "French Cleaning Products" has 115 employees, 24 million in turnover, 3 production sites and 100 years of expertise in hygiene and cleaning products. VISIT OF THE LYCÉE MONTCHAPET OF DIJON
Hygiene & Nature opens its doors!
On Wednesday, April 20, 2024, Hygiène & Nature opened its doors to the students of the Lycée Montchapet in Dijon for an enriching day of immersion. Much more than just a visit, this experience represents an open door full of discoveries and opportunities.
This day offered the students a new perspective on the specialties of the industry. They had the opportunity to explore the industrial sector, to dive into the laboratory and support functions, as well as to understand the workings of our activity.
The visit began with an in-depth tour of our production unit, guided by our Production Manager, Reynald. The students were able to get to the heart of our manufacturing processes and ask all the relevant questions that came to mind.
Then, it's off to the laboratory. In this space, the students had the opportunity to understand the process of making a sauce (product) thanks to a practical demonstration led by Valentine, a member of our laboratory team. Some students even volunteered to take part in the exercise of creating a washing gel, benefiting from several indications at the same time.
Finally, to close this enriching morning, the students discovered the various professions and support functions within our company. When it came time to choose their future direction, this experience allowed them to better understand the different professions and their roles in our organization.
We would like to thank the students and the accompanying persons in particular for their outcome and their interest in our company.
